SugarPixel must already be set up and running before proceeding.
1Unpack the Box
Confirm you have all three items — some may be wrapped in bubble wrap: Sidekick, USB wall charger, and USB power cable. If anything is missing, email support@customtypeone.com.
2Understand the Ports
Sidekick has ports for: LED indicators, power, SugarPixel connection, vibration puck, bed shaker, and USB device.
3Plug In Sidekick
Important: Incorrect setup can prevent alarms, damage the device, create a fire risk, and void the warranty.
- Remove the red warning sticker from the back of Sidekick if present.
- Sidekick sits directly under SugarPixel. Remove the adhesive covering from the attachment dots on top of Sidekick, align SugarPixel, and press down to affix.
- Plug the built-in cable into the vibration port on SugarPixel.
- Plug in the supplied power cable and wall charger.
Power: Use the supplied charger. If your country requires a different plug format, use a plug adapter — do not use a third-party USB wall charger.
Sidekick external device alerts are supplemental. Always keep your primary CGM alerts enabled and rely on SugarPixel's built-in visual and sound alerts as your backup.
